Right ways to use Contact Lenses

In this 20th century, when everyone is running before apparent beauty, many people with weak eyesight don’t prefer to wear spectacles. In such case contact lenses are considered to be the best choice among the youth. Teenagers these days are fond of wearing different lenses according to their complexion and their wardrobe. However special care must be taken while using lenses. Various infections may lead to different eye diseases and can cause you a great deal of trouble, if you are not using the proper method. Take into consideration the following points if you are using lenses in your routine.

 

1. Cleansing of hands: Never touch your pair of lens with dirty hands. Thoroughly rinse your hands with an anti bacterial soap, and then remove or put on your lenses. Dry up with a clean towel. Remember most of the infections are spread with dirty hands, so wash them up properly.

 

2. Use trusted products: Always use recommended solution for your lenses. Don’t experiment with your eyes. Try not to use variety of different solutions. Changing the solution over and over may lead to various allergies. Try to use the solution between the duration prescribed on the bottle. Using an out dated solution may lead to damaging your lens. Moreover try to use a multi cleaner solution with protein removal elements.

 

3. Cleaning on daily basis: Daily cleaning is very important for lens. It helps to remove the excess amount of protein residues on the lens surface. Change the solution regularly to have a irritation free wear.

 

4. Replacement of the lens Case: This thing also matters when it comes to cleaning. Most of the times particles gather at the bottom of the case. Either get your case replaced or wash it with warm water.

 

5. Water and lens: Never wash your lens with ordinary or even distilled water. Bacteria may reside in distilled water too. Moreover never put the lens in your mouth to clean it.

 

6. Sharing of lens: One pair of lens should never be used multiple users. This action is extremely dangerous and one of the most common ways to spread diseases. A person carrying a disease will likely to transfer it to other person if they share lens. In order to be safe from such complications, never allow anyone to use your lens.

 

7. Lens at night: Never sleep with your lens in your eyes. Your eyes need oxygen to lubricate and keep wet. When your eye lids are shut with lens on them, then they won’t get proper oxygen. In such a case they will get dry and stick to your eyes. So be very careful in always remember to put off your lens before you go to sleep.
