However a poor strategy lacking planning and innovation may lead to possible disaster to you and your company. Nevertheless one can be successful in achieving his objectives if he is vigilant and keeps in mind a few things in his mind. Below are a few deadly sins which should not be committed while marketing.

1) Relying Blindly: You should keep in mind that a marketing campaign working successfully for some other brand, might not necessarily work for you. Try to be innovative and bring uniqueness in your own ideas. Copying might bring short term success, but you might suffer long term losses.

2) Ignorance about your customers: How could you target your audience if you don’t know about them? You should have complete know how about the age, gender, income range, lifestyles, interests and habits of your clients.

3) Wrong Assumptions: A successful stable marketing requires a lot of efforts and experience in the practical field. Always remember your customers don’t think like you think. They come from diverse backgrounds with diverse needs and demands. So don’t presume that your customer might be thinking exactly as you are thinking.

4) Marketing after production: Always market about your product before it has been produced. This will ensure whether or not the product has some demand among the public. Surveys could be done and a new market might be created to achieve the marketing goals to their fullest.

5) More than one tactic: Never use a single tactic to promote your product. Always use more than one tactic in your marketing process. This will help to target diverse audience. 6) Never ignore special occasions/ holidays. You should have a clear idea about all the special occasions, festivals, and holidays of the whole year. The best time to launch a marketing campaign is during holidays and festivals. Children can be best attracted during their vacations.
