How to feel confident?

One of the most important yet the most difficult attributes to attain and maintain is self confidence and self esteem. To attaint these attributes is challenging for every human. Suppose we are occupied with harsh childhood memories, or unhealthy relationships, or going through emotional downfall or any other insecurity; self confidence or self esteem is utterly impossible to attain.

Despite of all these things, observations tell that self confidence can be built. It can be built up holistically if viewed from different domains of life. For this we can take three major areas into consideration.

1)      Mental

2)      Physical

3)      Personal

 

MENTAL

Self confidence starts at your mind. Positive thinking leads to positive results. The kinder you are to yourself the smoother and happier your life will be. First thing is to acknowledge your achievements. Have a look at your life, your degrees, promotions, and your children. Never recall those things about which others think, rather think of those which makes you feel happy and proud. Review these things often and remind yourself of the things that you have achieved.

Next thing is to focus on your strengths. If you are hardworking, good listener, volunteer, caring and loving. Discover and remind yourself about these qualities and abilities.

Curb your negative thoughts! Try to remain as much positive as you can. Negativity attracts negativity. Stop yourself whenever negative thoughts about any person, place, and situation come into your mind. Keep your mind positive.

 

PHYSICAL

May sound funny or strange, but the more you are conscious and careful about yourself, your appearance and outer look; the better you will feel. You will find a huge development and improvement in your confidence when you exercise are physically fit. You will feel insecure and complexed if you are out of shape. Exercise will give you a boost and give you a pack full of energy.

Looking nice and well dressed leaves a very pleasing and healthy impact on your mood and confidence. Your mood changes drastically when you feel that you are not looking good.


PERSONAL

Eye contact! You will find this tip to be the most crucial and difficult. But believe my words; it will become extremely easy and simple if you try over and over. Eye contact is a symbol of making others realize that you are comfortable with them and not having any sort of problem communicating. Second thing is to pass on a smile. Though difficult yet not impossible to follow. Also receiving a smile in return will make your feel more relaxed and comfortable. One last thing you can do very easily is to pass compliments to others. Instead of finding faults and issues in others, you just try to pass on good remarks and compliment them. Believe me that you will feel good of your try all these things and help yourself building up self confidence.
